reporting address changes
FOR FACULTY, STAFF, & SCHOLARS
Please follow the instructions for your status:
F-1: Report to program sponsor any changes in address or employment.
J-1 on Appointment at the University of Illinois:
1. Go to the NESSIE home page at https://nessie.uihr.uillinois.edu/cf/index.cfm
2. Click on “Personal Information”
3. Click on “Employee Information Form”
4. Login to the NESSIE system with your NetID and NetID password
If you do not know your NetID password, you will need to contact the CITES Help Desk at 217-244-0000 or visit http://www.cites.uiuc.edu/help/ for information on how to reset your password.
5. Enter your 4-digit pin number
If you do not know your pin, you can click on the link to create or change your pin.
6. On the next screen click on “Address”
To update your local address in Champaign-Urbana, click on the “Edit” button next to “Mailing Address.” Enter the new address information and click Submit.
By law, you cannot use either
a) P.O. Box or
b) departmental address as your Mailing Address
To update your office address at UIUC, click on the “Edit” button next to “On Campus Office.” Enter the new address information and click Submit.
To update your address in your home country, click on the “Edit” button next to “Permanent Address.” Enter the new address information and click Submit.
J-1 NOT on Appointment at the University of Illinois: Please email our office at email@example.com with your new address.
Other Statuses and Permanent Residents:
You will need to submit at AR-11 form, either by mail or electronically.

To download the form and obtain mailing instructions, please refer to the following web site: http://www.uscis.gov/ar-11
If you choose to mail Form AR-11 it is recommended that it be sent by certified mail and that you retain a copy along with the certified mail receipt for personal records.
NOTE: If you have an application pending with the Immigration Service, you must also notify the Service Center directly of your address change. This includes Js and Fs.
